The required sections have a red * asterisk.

While your pet is staying with us, we assure you that they will receive excellent care and our full attention. Our facility is equipped with air conditioning and heating to ensure your pet's comfort throughout their stay. Dogs will have scheduled potty break and exercise times in our outdoor area. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask a member of our staff.

Vaccinations: All pets staying in our facility must be current on the following vaccines:

    • Dogs: Bordetella, Da2PP (distemper/parvo), Rabies, Canine Influenza (both H3N8 and H3N2), and Leptospirosis. Additionally, dogs must have a current intestinal parasite screening within the last six months.

    • Cats: Rabies and FVRCP (feline distemper).

    • Birds and pocket pets do not require vaccines.

    • Ferrets: Distemper and Rabies.

If your pet's vaccinations are not up to date or proof of current vaccinations is not available, we will administer the necessary vaccines to ensure their stay in our facility. If your pet is under the care of another veterinarian, our doctor will perform an examination on your pet at an additional fee, and vaccines administered. Every pet must have had a full physical examination by a veterinarian within the past 12 months.

Boarding Exams: All pets that are current on their yearly exam will receive a brief examination by a technician during their stay. We will monitor your pet's weight and health condition to ensure their well-being during their stay.

Medication while boarding: A medication charge will be added to your bill for any boarder that comes in with medication or has an exam with a presenting concern on the day of arrival and the doctor prescribes medication. If the pet requires medication for an acute problem after arrival, no charge will be added.

Intestinal Parasite Screening: If your dog does not have a current intestinal parasite screening within the last six months, we will conduct the screening at an additional cost. This protects the health of your pet and other pets in our facility.

Fleas and Ticks: Upon entry into our facility, your pet undergoes a cursory exam for fleas and ticks by either a doctor or technician. If found, we will treat them at the owner's expense, regardless of whether you have signed a document stating that we will contact you before treating your pet. In extreme cases, Pinellas Animal Hospital reserves the right to refuse admission to protect other pets in our clinic.

Diarrhea: If your pet has or develops diarrhea during their stay, your pet will receive medication, at the owner's expense, regardless of signing a document stating that we will contact you before treating your pet.

Bathing: All dogs staying for boarding will receive a complimentary bath, brushing, nail trim, and ear cleanse on the day of pick-up. If you do not want your dog to receive a bath, you may arrange an earlier pick-up time with our staff. Please confirm the pick-up time with our staff as hours may vary due to holidays or other factors.

Cats will not receive a bath. However, if you would like your cats to receive a complimentary nail trim, please inform our staff when dropping them off.

If you opt to bring items from home, kindly ensure those items have your pet’s first name and your last name on the items, although our hospital will provide all necessary supplies for your pet’s stay.

Items allowed in our boarding facility include:

Bedding – one bed per pet. Only small to medium beds allowed. We cannot accommodate large dog beds. If large beds become soiled during your pet’s stay, we do not have the ability to launder the bed. We will provide large cots and beds for dogs.

If you would like to bring an item from home to comfort your pet, we highly recommend t-shirts that have your scent on them.

Food/food containers: Our facility will provide food and water bowls for your pet. If your pet requires a special feeder such as a slow feeder or raised feeder those are acceptable to bring. We do provide Science Diet food for your pet during their stay, but we do recommend that you bring their own food, so they stay on their normal diet. Please note that due to the risk of cross contamination we do not feed or allow any form of a raw diet in our facility.

Treats: We do have treats for your pet, but you may bring your own. Please note that we do not allow raw hide bones or treats in our facility.

Toys: Two toys per pet is the maximum allowed.
