Veterinarian, DVM
Dr. David Elmer was born in Augsburg, Germany and was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He graduated from Northeast High School and went on to the University of Florida to receive his undergraduate degree in Zoology. Dr. Elmer graduated from the University of Florida Veterinary School in 1984. Needless to say, he is a staunch Gator fan.
After graduation, Dr Elmer joined Pinellas Animal Hospital in 1985. His hobbies include canoeing, camping, hiking and reading. He and his wife, Laurie, have five cats, Little One, Big One, T.C., Jetty and Poly along with a Blue Front Amazon named Tiggy. The Elmers just added 2 new dogs to the family: Nikon, a brown mixed dog they rescued off the highway, and Comet, a pekingese who was rescued by a beloved client.
